I've Been Through The Desert On A Horse With No Name...

Oh what a weekend!!! Well, let me back up actually. Last Wednesday I had surgery on my hand. I had a ganglion cyst removed. All went well with surgery, and I was ready for a real Allen family party!! Mom and I headed to Omaha for my uncle Joe and aunt Brooke's wedding reception. They were married in June in Jamaica. Friday night was just a night for some good family bonding time, because we have realized lately there is never too much bonding time!! We all just hung out in the hotel and for the ones who weren't on pain meds, some adult beverages were consumed!

Saturday came and we all went to my Aunt Terri's house for lunch. It was a relaxing day, which is good because we all knew the night would have much fun in store for us!! In the afternoon some went shopping, and the rest of us went back to the hotel. I rested for a while, but then had to go see my little nugget swimming. He LOVED the water!!! He is going to be a little fish I am sure of it!!

The reception started at 7:00. We were all seated and they played a video of the ceremony in Jamaica. It was a very emotional video as my uncle Paul was the best man. It was very hard to see him walking down the path at the ceremony and smiling. Although I know he was not there in person, I am positive he was there in spirit with us all. After the video, they introduced the new couple! We ate our meal, and the party began!! Until you have experienced an Allen party, you don't know what a party really is!! A good time was had by all!! The night went way too fast as it always seems to do when we are all together having a good time!!

I retired to the room right after the dance was over. I was wiped out from the weekend's festivities. The others continued the party until the wee hours of the morning. Unfortunately for them, gift opening was held at 10:00 the next morning. I woke up and felt like I had been run over by a truck! I figured it was just the long weekend and me still recoverying from surgery, but as soon as we headed home, I was sick!! Not quite the end to the weekend I had in mind, but it sounds like a bunch of others also were sick with what we are thinking was the flu....But who knows!! All in all we had a good weekend and can never have enough family time!! It's always great to see them, and always hard to say goodbye to the ones we don't see too often. I will add a few pictures to enjoy!!
